Whilst I am now a Headmaster (Wycliffe College – since 2015), I was for many years a Spanish teacher across a range of UK schools and this included four years at Old Swinford Hospital (2004-2008), where I was also a Housemaster of a boys’ boarding house. We employed a number of Argentine gap students during that period (I have a long-standing love of Argentina and Argentine people) and I can report without hesitation that Nicolas Argentato was the best of them. He had a natural instinct for how to educate people, both academically and also pastorally. As a person, he had high standards and he demanded those same standards in the pupils in his care. He commanded respect without too much effort and understood how to assume responsibility and live up to the expectations that came with that responsibility. As someone with the ‘technical’ ability and knowledge to teach Spanish and English language to a high standard, I am delighted to confirm emphatically that he would be highly capable – he is an intelligent and insightful communicator in the English language. However, even more importantly to my mind, Nicolas is someone able to bring a broader and deeper meaning to what true ‘education’ should consist of and, as a result, working with him would also give people a chance to explore the wider aspects of what it is to be human and he could be relied upon to give young people an experience that might enable them to become not just better linguists but also better people.

Two years ago I received classes from Nico to prepare for the Cambridge First Certificate in English Speaking Paper. Not only did he help me improve my conversation skills, but he also gave me different materials for the exam and some tricks to further develop as a speaker of English. I was lucky to meet him and I highly recommend him as an English teacher. Without a doubt, his classes were very useful to obtain my certificate.

During my semester abroad I worked with Nicolas to improve my level of Spanish. The classes were prepared, structured and adapted individually for me, along with a follow-up that was carried out class after class in order to make the most out of our time. I recommend Nicolas to anyone who would like to learn Spanish with a native speaker. The classes were always interesting and fun, avoiding falling into boring or frustrating moments that could arise while learning a foreign language. Thank you, Nicolas!

I have to admit that Nico is the best English teacher I've ever had. His teaching is easy, direct, practical and fun. 100% recommended.

Two years ago I had private lessons with Nico and it was a great experience. Before my classes, I lived in Spain for almost 2 years and I learned Spanish on my own. Before finishing my stay, I decided to take the B2 DELE exam, but I lacked knowledge on the grammar and the written part of the exam. In just 4 months, Nico helped me with all the parts of the exam and I managed to improve the level of Spanish in all my receptive and productive skills. The result is that I passed my exam and I have my DELE B2 certificate. The classes were fun and very helful. I can only recommend him!

I've worked with Nico for over 5 years and have developed a close friendship with him based on trust. Being in charge of a school group is a huge responsibility for a trip leader, but I can honestly say knowing Nico is there with me 24/7 is one of the main reasons I keep coming back to this beautiful part of Spain. I would be lost without him! I would be lost without him! It's not just that Nico knows the area like the back of his hand, he also knows many local people and ittle touches like this are something that I cannot come up with on my own. Among Nico's many strengths are his communication skills. He does his homework in advance, thinks quickly on his feet when little issues arise and involves me in every decision that may involve a slight change in the itinerary. Nico has boundless energy and the ability to reach out to each and every student, making them feel valued and important. During the course of our stay he talks to each and every student on a daily basis showing a genuine interest in who they are. His group circle time and ukulele playing create a sense of fun and team that the students love. Nico is a unique guy who truly makes the trip "the best ever".

I spent almost a year receiving English classes from Nico and it was a wonderful experience. I read once that except food and water, the rest of the things in life should be considered a game, something that we do for fun. Well, Nico’s classes with his activities, music, videos and interesting anecdotes are all fun. Undoubtedly, highly recommended!
